My Travel Wishlist

Travel hasn't been something I've had much of an opportunity to do yet. I will be finishing university in May 2017 and planning some trips is becoming a top priority.

London
London has been close to the top of my travel wishlist since I was there in 2011. The last time I was there was for a basketball tournament so I didn't get to see any of the "tourist" sites or even do some proper shopping. I had hoped to get there this year but with work and uni assignments I don't think I'll have the time. I'm hoping I can do a weekend city break sometime early next year.

Greece
Ever since I was little and watched the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants I have wanted to visit Greece. There was something about the white houses and blue roofs that made me fall in love with the idea of Greece. I never had a specific place I wanted to go I just wanted to see those houses. After years of watching Zoella and SacconeJoly vlogs I have finally decided that the top places on my Greece wish list are Mykonos and Santorini. From what I've seen both places are beautiful and relaxing and I cannot wait to explore these places myself.

Melbourne
Another one that's super high on my priority list for travel is Melbourne, Australia. I have family who live in Melbourne and with it being so far away I rarely get to see them. Visits come once ever couple of years but they're always the ones doing the travelling. I'm making a plan to go there by 2018 to spend some time with them on their side of the world and get to explore their city.

Amsterdam
My brother was in Amsterdam a few years ago around Christmas time and ever since he went I have wanted to go. Christmas time is my absolute favourite time of year and I want to have a proper snowy Christmas as it's one thing we never really get in Ireland. Amsterdam in December is a must see for me.

New York
The last place for this post is probably the highest on my wishlist. New York City is one of my dream destinations ever since watching (and becoming insanely obsessed with) Gossip Girl. Through that show I began to fall in love with the city. I can't wait to make my trip to this wonderful city and experience New York life for myself rather than just through my TV screen!

This is only a small portion of the travel I want to be able to do but it's a start!! Where is on the top of your travel wishlist?

Get To Know Me

Hello everyone!

Today's post is going to be a little get to know me tag. I've done a few of these videos over on my YouTube channel but I figured some of you reading this blog probably haven't seen them, so here's a few facts about me! :)

What is your middle name?
I have two middle names, one from when I was christened as a baby and the other from when I made my confirmation. Both names are taken after my grandmothers and they are Hannah and Brigid.

What was your favourite subject in school?
In secondary school I'd have to say my favourite subject was Home Economics as there was such a variety of topics in it from cooking to budgeting to nutrition and sewing. Now I'm in university it would be a toss up between Organisational Behaviour and Psychology. These are both very similar subjects but would definitely be the most interesting to me!

What is your favourite drink?
If I was to go for a non-alcoholic drink I'd  have to say either water or tea (just your bog-standard breakfast tea, I'm not one for all these fancy herbal teas). If I was to choose an alcoholic beverage, my go to drink is a vodka and coke, though I am partial to a few cocktails most preferably a strawberry daquari or a mojito.

What is your favourite song at the moment?
Right now I am loving Closer by The Chainsmokers ft Halsey.

What's the last thing you bought?
Other than a few drinks on Friday night, I bought a phone cover.

Favourite book of all time?
I've never been much of a reader but I loved The Fault in Our Stars.

Favourite colour?
If I was asked this question in any time of my life up to probably 2 years ago the answer would have been pink. My tastes have slightly changed since then and I have become obsessed with maroon/wine. It is a staple colour in my wardrobe, I can't resist buying clothes this colour and even as I type this my nails are maroon!!

Do you have any pets?
No. I'm not much of an animal person if I'm totally honest. We had a dog for a while when I was little but I barely remember having him.

Favourite perfume?
I don't have a particular perfume I've fallen in love with yet, I'm still waiting to find the perfect one!!

Favourite holiday?
I was in Edinburgh last Christmas with a few college friends for a weekend and I loved it there, definitely want to go back and do some more exploring! I loved me 2015 Furetventura holiday with my parents as it was my first sun holiday in 9 years!!

Are you married?
Nope!! That's probably the furthest thing on my mind at the minute! I'm only 21 I've another few years before I start thinking about that!!

Have you ever been out of the country? If so how many times?
Yep, I'm not sure exactly how many times but I was in England a few times, as I mentioned I went to Edinburgh and Fuerteventura and I've also been to Mallorca. I have a lot of places on my travel wishlist, but I'll save that for another post!!

Do you speak any other languages?
As like more other Irish people, I learned Irish for about 15 or  16 years and I'm not fluent but I can speak a bit. I also learned Spanish in school but I probably couldn't hold a full conversation in it now but I can understand people sometimes if they speak it.

How many siblings do you have?
I only have one brother. I have always wanted a twin and either an older or younger sister but that will never happen!! Luckily I am very close with most of my cousins they help to fill that void!!

What is your favourite shop?
I am loving H&M lately, it's been my go to for new clothes but I will also always love Penny's (Primark).

Favourite Restaurant?
If there's one thing I love, it's my food! Picking a favourite restaurant is pretty difficult but I'd have to say either Aroi or CoqBull.

When was the last time you cried?
I honestly can't remember but it was probably watching some soppy movie or tv show scene!!

Favourite blog?
I've actually written an entire blog post on my favourite bloggers and vloggers. I will link it here!

Favourite Movie?
Mine would have to be My Girl. I loved it the first time I watched it and it just never gets old.

Favourite TV shows?
I have a fairly long list.. Once Upon A Time, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, One Tree Hill, New Girl, Jane the Virgin, The Blacklist and I've just started watching Gilmore Girls for the first time (way behind the times I know!!) and I love it too!

PC or Mac?
I have a PC now but I love the look of Mac's they're so pretty but also so expensive!!

What phone do you have?
Just this week I bought myself a gold iPhone 6s and I'm so in love with it!!

How tall are you?
I think I'm about 5"2 ish but I can't remember the last time I measured myself. I'm pretty short but I like to consider myself as "funsized"!!

Can you cook?
Yes! I love cooking!! I'm hoping to do some recipe & foodie blog posts! Let me know if there's something particular you'd like me to try my hand at!!

I hope you got to know something extra about me! Leave me a comment of an answer to one of these questions!! xx

September Update | Where have I been?

So it's been a while..Once again I have been MIA for another long while, I guess I don't have much of an excuse other than the fact that I have had a crazy busy last few months.

At the end of May I had my 21st birthday party I had been planning for months, thankfully it went 10 times better than expected. I could not have been happier with the way everything turned out, from food to decorations, the amazing cake my mam made to everyone who turned up.

The week after the party I moved out of my parents house and into a house close to the city with my best friend. I was still working full time on my University work-placement and got super busy there as my manager moved company and I took over most of his responsibilities. During this time I also somehow managed to develop a bit of a social life, yep that's right a social life who would have thought!! With this newfound social life it took over every weekend, greatly reducing my time for my channel and my blog.

I am now back at university for my final year and working part time in the company I did my placement so time is very limited again as outside of classes and work I have a huge amount of extra study and assignments to do, time is once again limited. I do really want to get back into blogging and my channel properly and I will try my best to keep them both as updated as possible over the next few months.

Please bare with me, this year will be very busy and stressful but come the end of May 2017 I will be finished university for good and can hopefully get back into this properly!

More things to come!!

What have you been up to for the last few months? Leave a comment below :) xx

My Favourite Bloggers and Vloggers

As someone who has been a viewer/ reader in the YouTube/ Blogging community for about 5 years I have discovered many vloggers and bloggers who inspired me to start my channel and my blog and continue to motivate me to improve my content and grow as a creator. I've put together a list of a few of my favourites.

Source
I discovered Jess' blog back in 2013 when I started my first blog. Her blog and YouTube channel mainly centre around fashion, beauty and fitness. Jess is one of the smaller vloggers/bloggers in this list but she deserves so much more recognition than she has. Her blog post and video uploads are always consistent and are always well written and edited. My favourite videos from Jess would be her weekly life vlogs, she pretty much documented her entire life at university, between working, constant assignments and staying fit and healthy. Her vlogs have made me want to vlog my final year in university when I go back in September. I like the idea of being able to look back on certain times of your life and my final year in University is certainly going to be stressful, challenging and hopefully a little fun!!

     LOVE LIFE
Source
Another smaller blogger up next, again I discovered Niamh from Love Life when I first started blogging and fell in love with her blog and style. Niamh being another Irish blogger helped to show that you don't have to be living in America or the UK to have great opportunities to grow your blog. She was one of the main bloggers to motivate me to get back into blogging again.

I first watched Tess when my crazy obsession for One Direction phase was in full swing. The first video of hers I watched was a "Get the Look" video for Eleanor Calder (Louis Tomlinson's ex girlfriend) and ever since then I've been in love with her channel ever since. She puts so much effort into filming and editing her videos and it seriously pays off! The day I get to film and edit my videos half as good as she does might just be the highlight of my time on YouTube.
HEY CLAIRE

Source
Claire Marshall is a professional make up artist turned YouTuber. I found her channel a couple of months back and again I'm pretty in love with every video she makes. Her channel again centres around fashion beauty, skincare and random bits of life. Some of her videos are more of an "artsy" editing style and are extremely creative and well edited, again another motivation to up my editing game.

As I am pretty much a YouTube and Blog addict there are many more but these are just a few of my current favourites I've constantly been keeping up to date with.

Let me know some of your favourites in the comments below!

Update March 27.03.2016

When I started this blog I was fully determined to be committed to it and to post regularly and be able to balance this with my YouTube channel, my job and somehow also fit in a social life. That was by plan but due to some recent circumstances that plan changed and failed.

The week of starting this blog one of my aunts was brought into hospital and life became a little crazy. My aunts returned home from England and Australia to visit my aunt and to lend a helping hand to her husband and daughter. Though having so much family around during this time was so nice, it was difficult to find time for myself to be able to write a blog post, film or edit a video or even go to the gym.

Last week my aunt passed away and as you can imagine I was pretty heart-broken. Despite having such a large family I am close with pretty much every member and loosing one of them is one of the worst things to happen. I took some time off work for the funeral and to help my mam as much as possible as no matter how difficult I was finding it, it was at least 10 times worse for her. Though the funeral service was beautiful and being able to spend time with my family and hear stories of my aunt from before I was born was lovely it was still a very difficult time and I'm still not used to the fact that she is gone forever.

I went back to work on Monday morning and though it was a difficult thing to do, it needed to be done. I am step by step starting to get my life back on track again. I am finding the motivation within myself to get back into writing blog posts and making videos, to start doing the things I love once again and to find myself along the way.

It has been a difficult past couple of weeks and things are only starting to settle back down again now. I am going to put as much effort as I can into my blog and my channel again and hopefully start ticking a few things off my 21 Things I Want To Do This Year list and start getting back into living my life again and reaching my goals.

I just wanted to explain my absence in this post and I hope you understand why I have been so MIA for the last couple of weeks.

Please let me know of any blog posts or videos you would like to see me do. Any suggestions will greatly help me get back into the swing of things again.

Valentines Day Make Up | 14.02.2016

Happy Valentines Day!

Today's post is the products I used in my newest YouTube video to create this make up look.

I recently bought this MAC foundation after years of only ever buying drug-store foundations and I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I am in the shade NC15 (as I have mentioned in many videos I am a ghost so I need the lightest shade of everything) If you would like me to do a review post or video please let me know and I will do that.

As it's a valentines look I decided to go very pink on the eyes and use my No. 7 eye quad (I couldn't find a link for this) that I've had for years but rarely gets used cause I tend to grab my naked pallets when ever I'm doing an eye look. I used the two pink colours from this and used "Tease" from my Naked 2 Palette to define my crease and waterline.

Concealer is an old favourite the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer that I'm pretty sure every beauty blogger or YouTube that can get their hands on has used it.

For mascara I used my Clinique High Impact mascara which I have a sample size of (the sample has lasted me ages!!)

Contour I used my old reliable Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit (which you can see I love because I've already hit pan and really need to buy another one! [Hurry up Payday!!])

Blush is another Clinique sample in the shade Iced Lotus and its a really pretty pink shimmery shade.

For my lips I used my favourite combo at the moment which is this Shiseido lip liner in the shade RS303 and my Rimmel Colour Show-Off lipstick in the shade pink excess. I love this combo because it's such an easy colour to throw on and you can literally wear it with anything

Back to Blogging

Hi everyone! Some of you may know me from my YouTube channel or my previous blog that I haven't posted on in like 2 years (possibly more :o) but if you watched my 21 Things I Want To Do This Year video you will know that re-starting my blog was one of the main things I wanted to do this year.. So I've been thinking about getting back on the blogging train for a while, I was going to wait until I bought a nice new pretty layout and then start but there's no time like the present eh?

So here I am back blogging. For those of you who do watch my videos or read my previous blog, this one will be similar. Beauty, fashion and random lifestyle posts will be the main basis of this blog with a few other bits such as diet, fitness and travel (if I can afford to go anywhere this year).

For those of you who don't know me, Hi my name is Niamh, I'm 20 years old and from Ireland. I'm currently on work placement for my 3rd year in university and I'm studying a business degree.

Welcome to my blog and I hope you enjoy. :)
